Mr. Oddo has over 20 years of experience in medical sales and sales management of surgical equipment companies. In January 1991 Mr. Oddo founded CORE Medical, a regional distribution company based in Naperville, Illinois, representing companies such as GE OEC Medical and Orthopedic Systems, Inc. In August of 2003 Mr. Oddo co-founded Platinum Medical, which developed a nationwide distribution model based on surgery technology for its primary client, Siemens Medical.
Mr. Oddo has performed extensive consulting work for major medical product companies representing complex and advanced surgical imaging, fluoroscopic guided systems, PACS and surgical navigation technologies. Mr. Oddo is a recognized expert in the design and construction of advanced operating rooms and has been active in medical workshop training labs and physician continuing education for over 20 years. Mr. Oddo lives in Henderson, Nevada. He holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Economics and Business Management with a concentration in Accounting from North Carolina State University.
Operations Officer, Amy Oddo
Since April of 2006, Ms. Oddo has served as the Executive Director of the Medical Education and Research Institute of Nevada (MERIN). Ms. Oddo has served as a member of the legislative sub- committee for the Nevada Committee on Anatomical Dissection. Prior to her accepting the Executive Director position of the MERIN, Ms. Oddo spent 15 years directing operations for medical distribution and consulting organizations where she was instrumental in the development and operation of two physician based medical education societies, the Chicago Minimally Invasive Surgery Society and the Chicago Endovascular Surgery Society.
In 2002 Ms. Oddo founded a distribution company to supply hospitals and surgery centers with disposable products for operating room equipment. This business was folded into Platinum Medical and sold as a separate business in September of 2006. Prior to her medical career, Ms. Oddo spent two years in professional education as the Director of Computer Education for NYNEX Business Centers in Charlotte, North Carolina. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with major in Advertising from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Business Development Officer, Martin Dean
A 1984 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Commerce with a BS in Economics, Mr. Dean has spent the past 25 years dedicated to sales and marketing. Starting out as a new rep cold calling businesses, and working for industry leaders U.S. Surgical, Karl Storz & Linvatec, he has risen to have been the senior executive in two surgical device companies – one a device repair business and the other a surgical device distributorship based on the Eastern Seaboard. Mr. Dean's technical experience includes implants, video imaging and surgical instrumentation for minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures, spine, ENT, GYN and general surgery. Developing the mission, setting the standards, implementation of systems and controls, and rapid delivery of results have been the reasons for his success. The highly regulated, detail sensitive, urgent nature of the surgical device industry have honed his nature for efficient delivery of inputs, direct management style and relationships based on reality.
Mr. Dean has a high degree of interest in many disciplines, and is an avid instrument rated pilot, world-traveled Scuba diver, has held Series 6 & 7 investment broker licenses, has a amateur radio license, and enjoys touring on his Harley. A believer in giving back to society, he has served on the Board of Illinois Family Institute, a family policy council, and co-founded and served on the Board of Central Illinois Medical Volunteers, a 501(c)3 organization involved in providing surgical procedures and training to remote areas in Central and South America. To date, Mr. Dean has organized and participated in 13 surgical mission trips. Mr. Dean has been married 25 years and is the father of three.
Research Officer, Dr. M. Joseph Bojrab DVM MS, Ph.D.
Dr. Bojrab is a Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and has delivered over 550 seminars and presentation on veterinary surgery to international, national, regional and state associations.
He was awarded the Bourgelat Award in 1981 by the British Small Veterinary Medical association and the Veterinarian of the Year by the American Animal Association in 1982. He has also received the distinguished Alumnus Award from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. He is the author of seven textbooks on small animal surgery. He is presently a member of the Scientific Program Committee for the Wild West Veterinary Conference and program co-coordinator for the Central Veterinary Conference.
Dr. M. J. Bojrab graduated in 1964 from Purdue University. He completed an Internship and Residency at Cornell University in 1966 and then accepted a position as Instructor in the Department of Veterinary Surgery at Oklahoma State University. During his initial tenure at Oklahoma State he completed a Master of Science in Physiology in 1968. He received a National Science Foundation Science Faculty Fellowship in 1969 and traveled to the University of Bristol in England where he studied Veterinary Anatomy and received his Ph.D. in 1971. He returned to Oklahoma State and was appointed Associate Professor and Head of Small Animal Surgery in 1973. Dr. Bojrab joined the faculty at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine and became Professor and Head of Small Animal Surgery.
